This program was established in 1991 and offers classes in Molecular Biology, Recombinant DNA Technology, Immunology, Protein Isolation and Purification, Media and Solution prep, Tissue Culture and Chemistry Technology. The chemistry technology includes mass spec, atomic absorption and HPLC. Upon completion of the class-work, students are required to complete an internship in industry. The program is directed by an Advisory Committee with broad based representation from private industry and public labs. Approximately 60% of the students have background or degrees in the field and are updating or expanding their skill base and 40% are new to the field. Graduates are currently working in a wide variety of labs in the area.
In addition, Shoreline offers short courses for on-going training in such areas as: Regulatory Affairs, HPLC, Flow Cytometry, Cloning and Bioinformatics. | |
