Summary
The Senior Manager, Global Market Insights conducts market insights activities related to TUKYSA, supporting both the US and Global business. He or she has responsibility to support brand tracking and market understanding for breast cancer as well as launch preparation and planning for future lifecycle indications. He or she synthesizes learnings across regions to provide a global perspective of brand health.
The Senior Manager participates actively in Seagen’s commercial planning efforts by providing unbiased, objective, in-depth information about current and future markets, product performance, customers, and competitors. Through primary and secondary market research and commercial analysis, he or she identifies critical business issues and opportunities for growth. He or she effectively communicates customer and market insights across levels and functions, both formally and informally to influence company and brand decision making. The Senior Manager collaborates as a member of internal cross-functional project teams and works to embed an external market point-of-view into the strategic direction of the company and brand. He or she reports to the TUKYSA Associate Director, Global Market Insights.
Responsibilities:
- Work with global and regional key stakeholders to understand business needs and priorities, as well as immediate scope of work
- Openly share perspective on market insights to elevate team thinking and drive a balanced, holistic point of view; effectively weigh and communicate trade-off considerations for the business
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams to develop meaningful solutions to address business needs and priorities, gain alignment and deliver impactful insights; engage necessary stakeholders to enable better decision-making
- Synthesize and present market research findings and strategic implications in a timely manner to key stakeholders, ensuring information is communicated clearly and effectively
- Partner with other global market insights functional areas to ensure shared knowledge between these groups
- Lead the proposal, design, and execution of global primary market research methodologies, both qualitative and quantitative, across customer types
- Develop requests for proposals, solicit competitive bids, award contracts to outside market research agencies; manage activities of outside market research agencies and review their performance against proposals and budgets
- Develop, execute, and maintain market research plans and budget
- Interact with global and regional brand teams to develop and execute annual situational analyses, market research tactical plans and budgets
- Provide expertise as data consultant on all secondary resources and identify appropriate uses of each resource, such as conducting product sales tracking, market trend analysis and performance reports
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical market research and/or management consulting experience is required with demonstrated expertise in sophisticated research methodologies
- Oncology experience strongly preferred
- Launch experience strongly preferred
- Understanding of pharmaceutical development and commercialization process, as well as industry competitive dynamics
- Excellent oral/written communication and presentation skills, is effective in a variety of presentation settings
- Superior analytical ability, ability to think strategically, and excellent project management skills
- Ability to manage ambiguity and uncertainty, act without having the total picture, and effectively pose questions to identify information required for decision making
- Experience in conducting competitive analyses and generating actionable recommendations
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with diverse teams across organizational lines and structures
- Comfort with senior management and ability to develop understanding of how senior management thinks and makes decisions; can speak their language and respond to their needs
- Ability to contribute in cross-functional teams and influence cross-functionally in a matrix environment
Education:
- Undergraduate degree required, science or business-related focus is preferred
- Graduate degree in business, science, or related field preferred
