Summary

Seagen is preparing to launch TUKYSA (tucatinib), a tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), for HER2+ metastatic breast cancer patients in UK and Ireland.

We are looking for a Country Director with responsibility for the commercial operations to successfully launch TUKYSA (tucatinib) and build an effective, innovative and sustainable oncology business in UK & Ireland. Reporting to the General Manager, Nordic, UK and Ireland, the successful candidate will recruit and manage the commercial launch team (marketing and sales) & lead the X-functional brand planning and execution of the launch in close collaboration with the Medical Director and the Market Access Director.

This is a unique opportunity to be involved from the very start in building something new for an emerging biotech leader. We are offering a role that is a leading part of a UKI team and the UK go-to person with many opportunities to interact with colleagues across Europe and at our global headquarters.

Responsibilities:

  • Hire, onboard and lead the commercial team for UK and Ireland; this includes both marketing and sales operations
  • Lead cross functional strategic brand planning for TUKYSA (tucatinib) and follow-on molecules with focus on unique customer insights, differentiation, product uptake and value adding services
  • Coordinate TUKYSA (tucatinib) launch readiness efforts across UK and Ireland in close collaboration with the local cross functional leadership team from Medical and Access and in close collaboration with the General Manager for Nordics, UK and Ireland. Be the Operational go to person in UK
  • Work closely with Market Access Director and General Manger to manage the market access processes in England, Scotland and Ireland
  • Adapt global and regional marketing deliverables including promotional materials and tactics to meet local needs working closely with internal and external partners
  • Execute the commercial launch of TUKYSA (tucatinib) and manage the in-field team on brand strategy, clinical and value messaging, and field tactics
  • Prepare and follow up of the financial forecast and the promotional budget
  • Follow up of the commercial launch via different KPI/ ROI and implementation of mitigation plan, identifying critical issues that impact the success of commercial efforts
  • Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders and opinion leaders
  • Develop and innovate stakeholder engagement including value adding services for patients utilizing digital channels and opportunities
  • Ensure all activities and plans are executed in alignment with Seagen’s high ethics and compliance standards as well as with local laws and regulations

Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent; MBA, Pharm.D., or Ph.D.
  • 5 years commercial leadership experience from affiliate(s) – e.g. as country director or oncology business unit manager
  • Experience with leading and coordinating cross-functional teams with launching new products – preferably in oncology
  • Strong network of relevant stakeholders in the England, Scotland and Ireland
  • Experience with building and executing different X-functional operational models
  • Hands on experience combined with role flexibility. Demonstrated ability to work independently with a sleeves rolled up approach in a startup environment
  • Analytical approach
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with working across cultures in Europe coupled with an ability to establish and strengthen relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability and appetite for travelling up to 30% of the time
