Summary

The Cybersecurity team consists of engineers and analysts who specialize in the tactics, tools and procedures used by cyber criminals. The Threat Intelligence Analyst will work within an interdisciplinary team that develops advanced analytical frameworks, tools, and research methodologies to identify emerging cyber threats. This role will be responsible for creating weekly intelligence digests to be consumed by the IT managers and monthly digest by the IT leadership team. The Threat Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for assessment of data for suitability in sustained threat intelligence analytics. Assessment will include factors such as suitability of data, format, sourcing analysis, requirements for processing and automation. Additionally, the analyst will be responsible for development of automation to ingest, process, and enrich threat data feeds. Additional research will also be required and include evaluation of underground forums, chat channels, and social media venues, and tools to maintain collection of data from these and other sources in both opportunistic and sustained operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collate information from various intelligence feeds and create weekly summary digests for leadership and line managers consumption
  • Collect, process and analyze open source reporting as well as 1st and 3rd party threat intelligence feeds for relevance and impact to Seagen
  • Work with information security, operations and risk management teams to provide data driven insights into existing and emerging threats
  • Process, organize, analyze, and assist in contextualization of incident indicators
  • Develop engagement deliverables, Support customer briefings
  • Assist in coordination with multiple internal teams to leverage capabilities for the benefit of Threat Diagnostic and other engagement efforts
  • Investigate network and host detection and monitoring systems to advise engagement processes
  • Develop core threat intelligence capability and subject matter expertise
  • Produce monthly intelligence briefing bulletins for an enterprise-wide audience
  • Produce/develop executive flash briefings for emerging issues/threats
  • Execute bash and python scripts to process discrete log files and extract specific incident indicators

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or masters degree in computer science, computer engineering, digital forensics, cyber security or equivalent security studies
  • 7-10 years of experience in a Threat Intelligence/Information Security role
  • 5+ years of programming experience
  • 5+ years of experience with data storage and analytics technologies
  • Strong verbal presentation and writing skills with emphasis towards clear and concise text
  • Experience Application security risks
  • Experience of common security regulations (PCI, DSS, GDPR, SOX)
  • Knowledge of basic system, network, and OS hardening techniques
  • Deep understanding of graph algorithms, label propagation, and vertex centrality
  • Programming skills in Java or Python are a plus
  • Knowledge of cyber-attack/penetration testing stages (MITRE Attack Framework, Cyber Kill Chain, Diamond Model)
  • Effective use of GIT to do version control and Jira (or similar) to manage projects
  • Experience operating and developing within multi-cloud is highly desired

  • Highly motivated and strives to achieve objectives
  • Professional, clear, and concise communication to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Strong deductive reasoning, critical thinking, problem solving, prioritization, and consultative skills
  • Proven organizational skills (time management and prioritization) and employs a rigorous process for all follow-up / coordination activities
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic environment, balancing multiple incidents, special projects, and other activities
  • Ability to deal diplomatically and effectively at all levels of the business including both technical and non-technical staff, management, and senior leadership
