Summary:

Seagen is looking for a motivated Research Associate III to work in the Impurity Assays Group. In this role, the primary responsibility will be to perform routine testing for process-related impurities including host cell proteins (HCPs), Protein A leachate, glucan, and growth factor IGF-1 LongR3, etc. This person will also participate in development and qualification of methods using various analytical techniques to characterize process-related impurities to support our antibody and antibody-drug conjugate programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology or related discipline, strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Independently design and perform routine process-related impurity testing
  • With guidance, plan and execute complex experiments to support development and qualification of process-related impurity assay, and provide method troubleshooting assistance
  • Support transfer impurity methods and reagents to internal or external teams and manufacturing facilities
  • Compile and analyze data in electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Summarize and present experimental findings at group, department, or cross-functional meetings, participate in discussions and author technical reports

Preferred Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree in biochemistry, chemistry, molecular biology, or other life science
  • B.S. and 5+ years relevant industry experience; M.S. and 2+ years of experience
  • Proficiency in plate-based assay development and troubleshooting, including ELISAs
  • Attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to understand project scope, meet deliverables timeline, and share responsibility for project milestones
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills
  • Nimble learning
  • Experience with 2D gel and western blotting
  • Experience with automation
  • Experience with NMR
  • Experience with affinity chromatography
