Summary

The primary mission of the Full Stack Developer is to empower Seagen users with best-in-class, self-service data and analytics capabilities. The Full Stack Developer will help to design, build, and evolve our Seagen Self-Service Data Platform with cutting-edge technologies guided by principles of Agile, DevSecOps, and continuous innovation. This role is an individual contributor who will work with cross-functional teams across Seagen to ensure our self-service data and analytics capabilities are built for adoption with the highest standards of security, usability, performance, and scalability while optimizing cost and innovating with emerging data and analytics technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently implement software engineering, DevSecOps, and DataOps standards and best practices including code modularization, versioning, testing, automation/CICD workflows, code reviews
  • Use continuous delivery practices to deliver high-quality software as well as value to end Seagen users as early as possible
  • Translate user stories and technical requirements into functional code
  • Create large-scale distributed systems out of microservices
  • Perform design, feature, and code reviews to drive excellence in engineering across the team to ensure high quality & maintainability
  • Advocate and evangelize agile, lean, and continuous delivery best practices
  • Stay current on the latest industry developments and trends to help lead the development of system/process improvements
  • Collaborate with Data Product owners, Architects, Business SMEs as well as different sub-groups within Seagen to effectively lead the design and development of self-service data and analytics capabilities

Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience as a full stack developer or similar role
  • Good understanding of Cloud infrastructure and experience in deploying applications in Azure, GCP (Google Cloud Platform), or AWS (Amazon Web Services)
  • Experience developing web services and building reusable code and APIs for future use
  • Experience with cloud engineering and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation) and provisioning capabilities in Azure or GCP
  • Experience with DevOps methodology and automation experience with tools like Jenkins, Ansible, Hudson, Chef, XL Release, and XL Deploy
  • Hands-on experience with either Python or Java
  • Experience measuring, monitoring, and improving platform performance
  • Should have understanding of Behavior-driven Development (BDD)
  • Hands on experience working in Spring Core, MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Microservices
  • Experience in working with unit testing frameworks like Junit, Mockito
  • Fair understanding of SQL and RDBMS and hands on experience in working with any of the databases like Snowflake, Oracle, MySQL, DB2 etc.
  • Should have good understanding of coding best practices and be able to do peer code review
  • Should have an understanding of GIT, Jenkins, JIRA, or Azure DevOps
  • Candidate should be able to create automated build and deployment scripts
  • Familiarity with Machine Learning and High-Performance Computing a plus
  • Graphql experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience identifying and acquiring new and relevant skills
  • Demonstrated experience having a passion for writing and maintaining excellent code and adhering to industry standards for code quality
  • Demonstrated experience shipping code and driving business outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills and can communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Able to build strong relationships while working with a fully remote team
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Desirable to understand design patterns and domain driven design
  • Desirable to have minimum understanding of React / Angular, but not mandatory

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Informatics, Data Science, or related field
