Summary

The Technical Operations (TOPS) is building a global Strategy & Portfolio Management Office, with a vision to drive transformation via excellence in Portfolio, Program and Project delivery. All projects of global nature will be supported and managed by this function including Technical Development, Operational Excellence, Strategic Initiatives, and others.

The PM role is a critical part of the execution as well as other aspects of a project / program management. The position offers general management opportunities and variety via a range of projects including commercial supply, technical development, operational excellence, and other strategic initiatives.

This position requires to be Zug-based, co-located with internal primary stakeholders as well as external stakeholders such as contract manufacturers.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple Projects, as assigned, working in close partnership with Project Lead (if any) Ensure effective and consistent execution of projects throughout their lifecycle (i.e. from concept-to-closure including project set up, delivery, and operationalization), per PMO departmental methods, tools and practices.
  • Establish a close partnering relationship with functional teams to ensure alignment and facilitate efficient program execution.
  • Create and/or support program/project planning, including cross-functional resources, budget, and timelines.
  • Manage and maintain high-quality project timelines and milestones (in Smartsheet, MS Project, Planisware or other tools).
  • Drive team objective setting, prioritization and ensure adherence to plan.
  • Manage project operations including periodic communication, change management, and governance, including organizing and facilitating internal/partner meetings.
  • Facilitate core team meetings, effective decision making, and disciplined resolution of action logs.
  • Implement, manage, and document Project Change Controls.
  • Support program risk/issue management via proactive identification of key risks, contingency planning and facilitation of mitigation.
  • Work closely with and manage alliance partnerships, if applicable.
  • Build and leverage relationships and networks to improve and enhance team dynamics.
  • Contribute to the upskilling and continuous improvement of PMO function and its operations including introducing/creating/building advanced project management techniques, best practices, tools.
  • Stay abreast of changes in the regulatory standards and expectations, evolving business needs, and the practice of project management.

Qualifications:

  • 10-12 years of biopharmaceutical experience, with at least 5-7 years of diverse project/program management experience, preferably in areas of late-stage drug development, product launches, and commercial manufacturing and product supply.
  • Track record of detailed planning, execution and timely delivery of projects in the areas of Technical Development, Launch management, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Quality, Supply Chain.
  • Experience with project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Prince, Agile, Lean), governance and risk management.
  • Understanding of and experience with cGMP and GCP fundamentals, incl. in biologics and oncology areas.
  • Experience working with corporate partners and alliances is desirable.
  • Experience with scenario planning, basic financial modeling, and risk management.
  • Experience with use of technology/digital tools/enablers (adept at Powerpoint, Excel, Word; knowledge of Microsoft Sway, SharePoint, Thinkcell, Visio helpful).
  • Ability to build relationships, negotiate & influence, and manage change in a global matrix environment.
  • Ability in problem-solving and issue resolution.
  • Ability to self-initiate, organize self/others, collaborate effectively.
  • Excellent communication and relationship management skills, high emotional intelligence.
  • Exceptional skills analytical problem solving and strong business acumen.
  • Superior written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills such as influence, persuasion.
  • Up to ~30% travel (domestic and International).

Education:

  • BS/MS in a Scientific / Engineering discipline
  • MBA is preferred
  • PMI PMP Certification is a plus
