Summer Intern – Cell Line Development, Automation Development

Description

Summary:

Cell Line Development (CLD) utilizes an automated cell line development platform to create GMP-quality cell lines that produce biotherapeutics to enable Phase I clinical trials and support future commercialization. The focus of this internship is to improve automated cell culture processes and data management capabilities to improve cell line selection.

Responsibilities:

  • Obtain real world experience in cell line development by performing cell culture activities such as cell thawing, passaging, and banking
  • Gain exposure to lab automation hardware and software, and improve on current automated methods
  • Evaluate and integrate new automation technologies to optimize workflows
  • Improve data management workflows between automation systems
  • Effectively interpret, assess, and communicate data in regular team meetings
  • Record project activities in an electronic lab notebook

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Biology, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, or related major (recent graduates will be considered)
  • Experience working in a research laboratory, preferably with cell culture
  • Some programing/ automation experience
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Understands and applies basic scientific and math principles
  • Ability to work independently and with a team in a laboratory setting

Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Seagen, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.
