Description

Summary:

We are seeking a highly detailed and motivated intern to assist in the evaluation of existing construct library, vector design and characterization of recombinant antibodies as part of the Protein and Bioanalytical Sciences group within Research. This position will include collecting and reporting analytical data for antibodies, in addition to auditing existing constructs and generating new constructs to complete a vector library of clinical antibodies.

Responsibilities:

  • Review of existing constructs and comparison to clinical sequences
  • Antibody DNA sequence design and vector construction generation via vendor
  • Analytical and functional characterization of purified products using UPLC, MS and BLI techniques
  • Research on glycan species contributions to PK and effector function
  • Sequence registration, documentation and data analysis of reagents generated
  • Collaboration, communication and presentation of results

Qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in biological sciences 0-2 years of research lab experience in an academic environment
  • Knowledge of antibody structure, post-translational modifications and function
  • Familiarity with analytical chromatography, mass spectrometry and/or glycosylation evaluation
  • Interest in antibody sequences and relationship to clinical function
  • Knowledge of recombinant protein expression and purification

Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Seagen, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.
