Summary:

Seagen is a growing and exciting biotechnology company focusing on transforming the world of oncology therapy with novel ADC and immunology technologies. If you have an interest in a career in biotechnology, we are looking for enthusiastic intern(s) who want to apply their skills in the GMP environment of the Quality Control. As an intern you will get to work with staff at all levels as well as participate in networking activities with fellow interns, while tackling test method challenges! This project encompasses building a failure mode library of test methods within quality control.

Responsibilities:

  • During the 12-week internship, the candidate will help build a failure mode library for various testing methods across clinical programs. This will help with determining why an assay is out of trend, invalid, has irregular electropherograms, and improve investigation timelines
  • The project will involve 60% laboratory sample testing and documentation and 40% report writing and presentation preparation. The candidate will have the opportunity to train in analytics such as Capillary Electrophoresis (CE). This project will culminate in a presentation to the department detailing the findings of the internship

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1+ yr in college/university program, courses related to analytical chemistry/biochemistry, pharmaceutical sciences would be valuable
  • Desire to learn and ability to do so quickly
  • Effective and demonstrable communication skills
  • Organized, with an ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
  • Drive, Focus, Creative and Flexibility
  • Our ideal candidate is technically competent and comfortable in the lab and who is not afraid to exercise her/his communication skills. The scope of the current project involves a basic understanding of laboratory skills around electrophoresis, spectroscopy, and some understanding of protein chemistry. Protein chemistry knowledge and experience with biophysical analytical methods would be a plus

Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. While housing is not provided by Seagen, we make every effort to connect fellow interns to arrange for joint housing and ride sharing.

The hiring pay range for this position is $20 to $32 per hour based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.
