Summary:

Seagen is looking for an action-oriented Research Associate III to work in the Impurity Assays Group. In this individual contributor role, the primary responsibility will be to perform testing for process-related impurities including host cell proteins (HCPs), Protein A leachate, glucan, and growth factor IGF-1 LongR3, and more. This person will also participate in development and qualification of methods using various analytical techniques to characterize process-related impurities to support our antibody and antibody-drug conjugate programs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline, foster a team player mentality, possess strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work both independently and in a collaborative manner.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Perform process-related impurity testing with a high degree of independence in daily work.
  • With guidance, design and execute development and qualification of analytical assays to characterize process-related impurities, and provide method troubleshooting assistance.
  • Plan and execute complex experiments with guidance.
  • Independently design and execute routine experiments, and compile, analyze and interpret data.
  • Support transfer impurity methods and reagents to internal or external
  • teams and manufacturing facilities.
  • Summarize and present experimental findings at group, department or cross-functional meetings, participate in discussions and author technical reports.

Required Qualifications:

  • M.S. degree in biochemistry, molecular biology, microbiology or related scientific discipline with 2+ years of relevant industry experience; or B.S. degree with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiar with process development for drug manufacturing
  • Proficiency in plate-based assay development and troubleshooting, including ELISAs
  • Experience in developing and executing ELISAs and method qualification/validation
  • Experience in gel electrophoresis and western blotting
  • Strong organizational skill and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to understand project scope, meet deliverables timeline
  • Effective communicator and interpersonal skills
  • Leans into optimizing work processes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with 2D gel and western blotting
  • Experience with lab automation technologies
  • Experience with diverse bioanalytical platforms: e.g., Gyrolab, MSD ECL, AlphaLISA, Simple Plex

The hiring pay range for this position is $83,000 to $108,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
