Position Summary:
Seagen is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate Research Associate III to help meet the expanding needs of our drug development programs. Activities will include development and execution of assays to characterize the therapeutic potency and elucidate mechanisms of action (MOA) for our novel cancer therapeutics. The successful candidate will have a strong scientific background, thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment, have a proven track record of technical excellence, and successfully communicate with a wide variety of audiences.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Design and execute molecular and cellular based laboratory techniques including cytotoxicity assays, biochemistry-based assays such as ELISA and western blotting, multicolor flow cytometry, and immunofluorescent cell microscopy
- Investigate MOAs of our therapeutics through development, optimization, and execution of complex assays
- Maintain rigorous records of experimental progress using electronic laboratory notebooks
- Contribute to and help author technical reports for health regulatory agencies and manuscripts
- Present experimental results, scientific rationale, meaningful scientifically integrated summaries, and future directions to colleagues within research
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Cellular, or Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Bioengineering or other relevant discipline with 4+ years' relevant experience or M.S. degree with 2+ years' relevant experience; or equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant laboratory experience including for example, cell culture, cytotoxicity assays, multicolor flow cytometry, microscopy, Western blotting, and Luminex/ELISA assays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in cell culture techniques and complex cellular assays
- Ability to independently design, perform and interpret complex experiments that require understanding of the scope of the project and critical needs to drive it forward
- Experience in designing fit for purpose cellular and biochemical assays
- Ability to recognize patterns or problems and proactively solve them and create new SOPs
- Detail-orientated person with strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Ability to collaborate across teams and a variety of disciplines to provide experimental expertise and support others on joint projects
- Ability to identify and design appropriate mouse tumor model experiments and interpret generated data
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and analytical (Prism, FlowJo) software programs
- Proven cross-functional team player; may lead parts of projects or initiatives within area of expertise
- Excellent written/oral communication skills; can explain details of the work and how it fits into the bigger picture with minimal guidance

The hiring pay range for this position is $83,000 to $108,000 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire (with additional annual grants, and grants upon promotion when applicable), and an annual bonus.
