Summary:
We are seeking an intern for our late-stage branch of drug development research, IND to Medicine Research (IMR) which focuses on elucidating the differentiating aspects of our approved therapeutics and those currently being tested in clinical trials. The intern would have the opportunity to contribute to our research team by performing experiments to address important biological questions. An ideal candidate should be eager to learn and enthusiastic about working in a highly collaborative team.
The aim of this internship project is to identify pediatric indications which may benefit from the therapies currently in our pipeline. The intern will be responsible for using flow cytometry and high content microscopy to examine protein expression and cell death markers and develop assays to assess the cytotoxicity potential in pediatric cancer cell lines. Additionally, they may assist in the identification of relevant toxicology models for pediatric safety studies.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain cell lines in using aseptic technique
- Immunofluorescence staining, optimization, and imaging
- Analyzing data independently, or with minimal guidance
- Present findings at a group meeting at end of internship
Qualifications:
- Experience with basic biological bench skills, including pipetting
- Experience with general sterile technique
- Ability to follow written protocols and execute experiments
- General cell biology and biochemistry knowledge
Note: This is an onsite, paid internship. This position is open to all students legally authorized to work in the United States. We are not able to offer visa sponsorship for internships. The hiring pay range for this position is $20 to $32 per hour based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role.
