Description

In addition to one marketed product, we are advancing a strong product pipeline of novel therapies for solid tumors and blood-related cancers designed to address significant unmet medical needs and improve treatment outcomes for patients.

Summary

Protein Sciences is seeking a talented scientist and manager to help design and develop novel antibody-based therapeutics at Seattle Genetics. The successful candidate will have a track record of technological advances and experience in leading scientists within the field of therapeutic protein engineering. Responsibilities will include laboratory-based efforts with a focus on novel antibody platforms to increase the efficacy and improve the safety of antibody therapeutics. The candidate will have a strong background in structural biology, molecular biology and protein engineering. Familiarity with display technologies and antibody drug conjugates are a plus. Specific position level will be commensurate with applicant’s experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead/oversee in house antibody engineering efforts.
  • Initiate discovery of new protein based therapeutics.
  • Interface with other divisions of research to advance team goals.
  • Guide a talented team of Scientists and Research Associates.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Structural Biology, Biophysics or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in academics or industry.
  • Direct experience with display platforms (phage, ribosome or yeast display).
  • Driven to advance oncology-based projects.
  • Previous management experience required.
  • Proven success in engineering proteins for therapeutic applications.
  • Effective verbal and non-verbal communications skills. The ideal candidate must have excellent presentation skills and a strong publication record.
