Company Description
The Hope Heart Institute is a non-profit cardiovascular research institute whose mission is to serve humanity through cardiovascular research and education. The institute is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of heart and blood vessel disease, and to improving the physical, emotional and spiritual quality of life for all at risk of -- or afflicted with -- cardiovascular disease. Current studies at The Hope focus on understanding the interactions of the cell and its matrix at the molecular level, emphasizing the development and function of connective tissue and blood vessels. In Translational Medicine, our researchers seek to unite progress in molecular biology, vascular biology and cell biology in order to "translate" them into new, pre-clinical and clinical applications. The Hope also focuses on community education, our projects include: Women Take Heart™ a multi-part series of interactive health seminars, Youth Take Heart, an interactive CD-ROM game for grades 6-12 on the cardiovascular system, and Organ Donation & Transplantation Program for Asian-Pacific, African-Americans & Alaska Natives that offers education to physicians, community educators, & local residents.
